A knock on the door revealed an over-laden postie with multiple packages for me. A good day. After quickly opening and discarding the washing machine part, I slashed open the jiffy bag to reveal this.
It is a tube of titanium machined with exquisite precision to take a custom tritium capsule. Crying out for a pretentious photo n’est pas? So into the basement went I, set the camera to 30″ and handheld the flash at about 1/64.
Other than glow, it doesn’t do much except be exceptionally pretty. Good enough for me.

A pelican perched on one of the fence posts on the pier at Santa Cruz. The autofocus pre-flashes startled him and he leapt into the air.
